Apple’s 27-inch Cinema Display Ships

The new Cinema Display from Apple is our and boy howdy is it pretty. While at first glance you may think paying $999 for a 27″ display is nuts, take a look at the specs, especially the resolution and then you might reconsider. Apple is famous for being real sticklers about only using the best components, and in displays I would venture to say doubly so. I have an older 24″ non LED backlit display and this is making me look at it, less fondly. They still could have put in USB 3.0 ports though, Come on Apple, why no USB 3 love?

27″ diagonal display with 16:9 aspect ratio and in-plane switching
2560 x 1440 max resolution
LED backlight with 1000:1 contrast ratio
178-degree viewing angle
Built-in iSight with microphone
Built-in 2.1 speaker system (49 watts)
Three self-powered USB 2.0 ports
One cable with MagSafe, USB 2.0, and Mini DisplayPort with audio support
